Is the Supreme Court Scotland's Pawn?
More references suggest the court is being used as a political battleground between England and Scotland.
Recently the Scottish Parliament passed two Bills and in any normal democracy that would mean they become law. Of course things don’t quite work like that in the devolution settlement agreed under the Scotland Act 1998. Under that regime the UK government has the power to challenge such Bills if they think the Scottish Parliament has exceeded its powers.
