2025 will be the year that this Labour government hits its stride.

Keir Starmer and his cabinet had the back half of 2024 to lay the groundwork for what is to come. This year, their policies and manifesto promises will become a reality as bills start to receive royal assent.

With this power also comes responsibility.

So far, Labour have been able to blame the Tories for where things have gone wrong with the country. To a great extent this will remain true for the life of this Parliament, but as time goes by people will become less patient with this argument and expect action from Labour.

Perhaps nowhere is this more true than with immigration.
