Silencing NDAs

Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) are a controversial legal tool.

On the one hand, they can be useful for protecting commercially sensitive information, but they also deny people the ability to speak freely and that is something that can be open to abuse.

In the past, NDAs have been used to prevent victims of sexual assault from coming forward and speaking about their experience.

This means that perpetrators, including infamous characters like Harvey Weinstein, have been able to continue their criminal acts, free from the fear of repercussions.

The #MeToo movement attempted to blow this dark underworld wide open and had amazing success as many celebrities and big name figures were held to account.

The law has taken some time to catch up, but change is finally happening.
