Last week the High Court came to the following conclusion in the case of R (Good Law Project & Runnymede Trust) v The Prime Minister & Secretary of State for Health): “The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care did not comply with the Public Sector Equality Duty in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 in relation to the decisions on how to appoint (i) Baroness Harding as Interim Chair of the National Institute of Health Protection in August 2020 and (ii) Mike Coupe as Director of Testing for NHS Test and Trace in September 2020.”
